My mom uses vintage tins to make robots. I often use them as planters. My current favorite use of vintage tins is for storage and organizational purposes. I rustled up a few standouts to share.
This craft supply caddy made from vintage tins by Better Homes and Gardens tops my list of cuteness. Reminds me of the Tiered Treat Tray I made from vinyl records.
I love old recipe tins, but these days I keep my recipes on a computer and not an index card. No worries just convert all those cute tins into something you would use like a pin cushion.
This photo of tins in the kitchen by Toodeloo has been making the rounds on Pinterest and now on my blog.
A vintage tin washing machine makes a great pen and pencil holder. I also love vintage kitchen tins to store randomness in. Check out my post on Reclaimed, Revamped and Re-invented Craft Space Storage.
I love these magnet board tins from Martha Stewart. I would of course use a kitschier tin, but in theory I like the idea.
As mentioned in Operation Craft Space Clean Up Volume 4 I transformed a couple of old TV trays into a magnet boards. Cute and handy.
Got any vintage tins in your life? How are you using them?
Oh, man, I love the TV-trays-as-magnet-boards idea!!! Now I am super-sad I let my mom toss out these bitchin' psychedelic fruit-themed TV trays she had when she was cleaning out her house recently. Just couldn't think of a good use for them at the time. :(
