Baxter - My 10.8 lb Bundle of Joy
Has it really already been a month since I had a baby. Geez the time flies. I figured it was high time we had a formal blog introduction, so ladies and gentlemen I give you Baxter Dabney. He was born on March 3rd tipping the scales at 10.8 lbs. Better than the 11.4 he was projected for!
Life with 2 kids is going smoothly. I could not ask for a more chill baby. Tallulah seems to be getting used to the idea of being a big sister. Chris took a month off to help out, so that has been awesome. Next week will be my first attempt at solo parenting of 2 kids so wish me luck!
As always any and all advice is appreciated. My latest dilema is about double strollers. Do I get side by side, front and back or just use the one I have and wear Baxter?
P.S. Thanks Maybe Me J for the pretty picture frames.
He's cute!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! What a beautiful baby! And I love your kids' names!
ReplyDeleteSorry, no advice on the stroller issue. My son was five by the time we had our daughter, so we didn't need a double stroller. But, I can tell you that having two kids is so much fun! You're gonna LOVE it!!!
beautiful!!!!! what a lovely boy.
ReplyDeletemy kids were 15 months apart and with the stroller,I had a one back one front as the side by side appeared not to fit through some doorways. I wore my son for a while but couldn't of done without the buggy. once my daughter was old enough we got a lite stroller with a buggy board.
A B-I-G congratulations to your entire family!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had a side by side stroller and it was great when walking outside, but doorways were a nightmare.
Think I'd recommend carrying Baxter while you can and then buy a front to back stroller with big sister in front.
Peace to you all,
Donna
Oh, he is LOVELY! Well done, Mommy and Daddy! And you will be great on your own with two kiddies--you'll all have a great time.
ReplyDeleteOn the stroller issue--definitely front-back, for the door issues already mentioned. They're just easier. Plus, if little guy falls asleep in the back, big sister can still look around without disturbing him. And by the time he's where she is, wanting to stay awake and look at EVERYthing, you'll be LUCKY to keep her in a stroller! :)
The carrier/stroller thing is a good idea as well, but you might want to go that route if Daddy is along to share the load--if you're out by yourself, it can be quite difficult to maneuver the stroller with the squirmy baby strapped to your front (or even your back).
Goodness! He's adorable. Congrats and best of luck!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the cutie! Good luck navigating with the kiddies.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Jenn! The photos are adorable. My baby arrangement was similar, with a girl first and a boy 4 years later. It's nice having one of each! :-)
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable, Jen! Congratulations! I love his name! :) I'm sure T is a great big sister.
ReplyDeleteFirst off congrats he is adorable! I too added a little boy to my family. My little girl also enjoys the big sister status!!! I would totally go with the side by side stroller.....Wearing is okay sometimes it is nice to be able to move around uninhibited when you have two!!! good luck i am sure you will do wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your beautiful addition!
ReplyDeleteSuch a doll!!!!
ReplyDelete...and you..... WHAT A WOMAN!!! 10 pounds...DANG!
La-la..love the pic with newborn Baxter in your arms and your hair all casually perfect with the peek of your tat. Congratulations...mine are 8 and 14 and I get just an oonch envious of many of my friends that have baby's. Cherish the time it does go fast!
jumping up and down with joy!!! you will love having two kids, they will always be there for one another! mega love! love you!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family. Front and back worked for our family. You already carried little Baxter for 9 months give your back a break. Big sister, Tallulah, will enjoy it, too.
ReplyDeleteooooo. I LIKE. =) thank´s for linking to me. =)
ReplyDeleteHe's beautiful! Congrats and thanks for sharing the photos of him with us...youre not just a Mom now you are a bonified SHE-RO!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute guy! I had a big boy, too. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the stroller, I think it depends on how much you're going to use it . . . every person I know who does a lot of walking with a double stroller swears by the side-by-side stroller; the front/back ones end up hurting your back if you have to maneuver and turn with them too much. I've used a Maclaren side-by-side and a Bob side-by-side and been very happy with both. Enjoy your new little one!
