Austin Adventures - Zilker Zepher

I just got a message through Twitter today from a dad asking me advice on a fun activity for a kiddlet. Lucky for him Austin is full of kid fun. However, if your kid is a train lover there is one activity that sticks out above all others - The Zilker Zepher.

The Zilker Zepher is an adorable little mini train tucked away in Zilker Park. This cash only ride picks up a hop, skip and a jump from where you go into Barton Springs pool. I recommend an off day so that you don't have to wait. We went on a cool fall day and jumped right aboard.

Tallulah loves trains whether it is Thomas or the Zepher so she was thrilled with the short ride through Zilker Park. Even kidless the train ride is fun. Kids and adults alike enjoy going through tunnels, taking a load off, viewing the park & going under bridges.

Another added bonus of going on the train is the fun adjacent park. Not just any park, one with an old firetruck. Tallulah enjoyed swinging, sliding and driving the truck.

Just another example of the bazillions of fun things to do in Austin that also just so happen to be kid friendly.
