Since I don't have much to say today I thought I would instead show you what I picked up at the thrift store and Half Price Book Store over the weekend. Some major scores!
Creative Crafts and Stitchery is a goldmine of handy embroidery information and more. It's thick and juicy just like I like my craft books.
Speaking of creative stichery, check out this Flower Children project by Bucilla still in the box and with the frames and thread. Whoa.
I have suitcases full of vintage fabric scraps just begging to make something out of the Scrap Savers Stitchery Book. Take my fabric jewelry class at Stitch Lab to get your hands on some of my scraps!
Anything with Crafts and Jamboree in the title has got to be good. The first projects in this book involve drinking straws and corn cobs and it just keeps getting craftier.
Better Homes and Gardens Creative Table Settings is not crafty, but totally awesome. The only thing I love more than a vintage craft book is a vintage home decorating book.
Last, but not least, I scored the Better Homes and Gardens Baby Book. The information inside might be a little outdated, but the last half of the book is an unused baby book that is totally adorable!
Those are GREAT finds! Good for you! Got me thinking . . . I must get out my old craft books! :)
ReplyDeleteI would have bought the baby book for the photo on the cover alone!
These bring back alot of memories for me. My mom had a lot of these same books. Thanks for the walk down memory lane
ReplyDeleteI look for books like these when I go thrift shopping - great finds!
ReplyDeleteI love these old books. Macrame is a favourite!
ReplyDeleteJennie I hate to say they had the moother-load of vintage macrame books at the same store. I was so tempted to get them for the groovy pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh wow !! I just thrifted the completed pair of Flower Children a couple of mos. ago! They now hang on my little blossoms wall !
ReplyDeleteI love those old books! I have many of them, and I get some crazy ideas from them sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your find!
Jenny
I've got the craft jamboree book! Passed down from my mum.
