If you live in Austin be sure to pick yourself up a copy of Rare Magazine. The local glossy mag has a feature on yours truly! I mentioned to the editor that I used a past issue of Rare to make the Shredded Junk Mail Necklace on the cover of The Naughty Secretary Club: The Working Girls Guide to Handmade Jewelry and the matching Shredded Junk Mail Bracelet pictured here in extreme close-up. If you don’t live in Austin and can't grab a copy, which is too bad because they make great jewelry, you can still read the article below.

This is awesome! I feel the same about rare...when burger was a smaller baby I covered a diaper box with pages and pieces using rare pages so he could stare at it.It is a toy box now. Congrats on such a lovely write-up from such a lovley mag
ReplyDeleteBelle that's so funny! I have another friend who uses old copies of Rare to cover picture frames. They should do a whole series on what Austin crafters do with their old copies of Rare.
ReplyDeleteI totally use Rare for my collages and made my christmas cards out of them last year (of course, I'll be honest I added a hefty amount of glitter and there may or may not have been potato stamps involved). I just love the feel of the paper too. Kudos to both of you!
ReplyDeleteMay or may not, girl don't be ashamed of that tater stamp. Seriously there are 3 more issues for them right there.
