One of my favorite blogs, Urban Socialite was sweet enough to talk about Stylelicious in today’s post. You should go read all about it here.
I am having lunch with Erin and really thinking about falling off the carb wagon for some corn and cream cheese enchiladas at Berry Hill. I am going to try and channel my inner strength, but I am weak and enchiladas sound so good after a week and a half of lettuce and meat. Plus I know Chris is whipping me up a low carb dinner of steaks and broccoli. My friend Matt has been trying to tell me that you can eat carbs, just do it before 5. God, when did I turn into one of those people that cared about carbs? I remember the days when I refused to use a razor, had matted blue hair and would not eat meat at all - let along 24 hours a day. My how times change.

Thor himself is trying to spear her personally with a lightening bolt.
So it is totally pouring down rain in buckets today. My 90 pound dog Lucy is driving my crazy trying to get underneath my desk because she is afraid of thunder and seems convinced that Thor himself is trying to spear her personally with a lightening bolt.
When I woke up this morning the first thing I started thinking about were songs that have to do with rain. This was actually more difficult than I had imagined and I really didn't get that far at all.
Helium "Oh the Wind and Rain"
Eddie Rabbitt "I Love a Rainy Night"
Mary Lou Lord "Camden Town Rain"
The Weather Girls "It's Raining Men"
The Magnetic Fields "All the Umbrellas in London"
Anything by the Raincoats, Storm and Stress, Rain Like the Sound of Trains or The Go Team Thunder, Lightening Strike album.
I told you it was a sad excuse for a list. The other night on Vickie's patio Karly and I had a bonding moment. That rain gages mesmerize and confuse us. Now we are not stupid girls, but how can a rain gage the size of a test tube and another the size of a bucket give the same reading about precipitation levels? It is really a confusing state of affairs for me that I may never understand. Mark this right up there with other life mysteries like "how does the filling get inside the Twinkie" (insert wink and smile about twinkie comment here).

It was a lovely warm sunny day to sit on the patio and sip margaritas and cuba libres.
It felt weird to be at local Italian restaurant Romeo’s at 10 in the morning yesterday, but that is where I was. It has taken the Austin Craft Mafia forever and a day to get new group pictures set up and yesterday was the big day. We decided to go for an Italian theme for whatever reason, it wasn’t my idea so I just showed up and smiled. Once I was there I really regretted my outfit decisions. I originally thought I would wear my Naughty Secretary Club hoodie, but everyone thought I looked dumpy. Everyone except for Jen A and I had worn black, white or red and there was a plethora of polka dots. I really wish I had gotten the memo about this outfit bonding and I would have dressed accordingly. Sadly the only other top I had was this green tuxedo style top with ruffles that I have only worn once and was never quite sure about. Well now it is immortalized forever, so I better learn to like it. So we all took group pictures throughout the restaurant in various poses in front of faux grapes, statues of Venus and gold leafed mirrors. The group shot was all of us eating our lunch: pizza, pasta, bread, salads. I’m on the Atkins I couldn’t eat the pasta, I know lettuce does not really fit the theme. I can’t wait to see the pictures, Cory Ryan is an amazing photographer so I am sure they will rock.
After pictures wrapped up around 2 we all decided to head over to Hotel San Jose for some cocktails. Well San Jose does not open until 5 so that plan was foiled, but I remembered Becks across Congress has a lovely back patio so we ran across the street and snagged a table in the back. Cory, Hope, Tina, Jen A, Jason, Vickie and I all got ready to order a drink when the waitress bestows some interesting news upon us. Apparently Becks has lost their liquor license so they can’t charge us for booze. HOWEVER, they can give it to us for free – and that they did. It was a lovely warm sunny day to sit on the patio and sip margaritas and cuba libres. Ah heaven.
So this morning I woke up to even more stuff to do for the Austin Craft Mafia, sent out our EVITE for the Stylelicious premiere party. If you live in Austin you should totally come. Wednesday April 5th 7:30pm at Docs Motorworks. Free drinks from 8-9, swag bags for the first 75 people, $1 tacos, and Stylelicious on 5 big screen TVs. How can you say no to that! Well if you don’t live in Austin you can and in that case you should just watch it on the DIY Network starting Thursday April 6th at 1pm CT and again Sundays at 3pm.

I don’t spend that much on bands I know and love.
I set out last night to see my friend Chico’s band Magic Surprise at Emo’s, but plans took a turn. Hope, Erin and I had all the best intentions of going but the cover was $10. I don’t spend that much on bands I know and love. So we went around the corner to Beauty Bar instead. I feel like I live at this bar lately with all my visits during SXSW. It was fun though and worth the trip. First Dave and Joe came over to play, I hadn’t seen those kids in awhile. Then Erin’s BF Jason, AKA Jug showed up. At some point Matt and Karly arrived, but they are in a new relationship and make out all the time so it was pretty much like they were not there. Page, Neil, Austin and a gaggle of other kids rounded out our posse. Fun was had by all.
Speaking of bands I have paid $10 to see, Stereolab was playing last night across the street at Stubbs. I had debated on attending the show, but I have seen them so many times it is sad. There was the time on the second stage at Lollapalooza in Dallas, once in London, Halloween at Liberty Lunch, others I am forgetting. I really wanted to go see the dudes from the Sea and Cake open the show, but I heard they were pretty boring. I am actually going to Stubbs next week to see Dinosaur Jr. Yes I have seen them lots of times too, but come on it’s Dinosaur Jr. I even once saw J. Mascis do an acoustic tour and another time I saw him with Mike Watt from the Minute Men and Ron Ashton from The Stooges. It was heaven.
It’s a lovely sunny Saturday here in Austin with temperatures in the 70’s. I think I might continue my front yard landscaping adventures. I chopped down some bushes and the roots need to be dug up. Chris and I are also building a bench by the front door out of cinderblocks. I saw it in a Budget Living book, it’s actually really cute. I bought some red outdoor fabric to cover the seat cushion with this week. I just need the cushion and the board to complete the project. Did you know the peeps from Budget Living have a new blog? It’s true, they do!

On the road again.
On the road again. I just can't wait to get on the road again. Hope and I are headed back to Austin today, whoo-hoo! 3.5 hours in the car, awesome! We may be hitting the town tonight and going to Emo's to see Magic Surprise and Neil Hamburger. Then again maybe not. Chris already has dude plans without me so I gotta do something fun!

Do I keep my mouth shut and get the extra dollar in savings?
There is a shoe store here in Dallas that sells amazingly cheap shoes and I have to visit it every time I am here in town. Another factoid about the store is that all they play is religious music. It drives my mother crazy and she walks around swearing under her breath about how much she hates the music. She is not a devil worshiper or anything I think it just irritates her to be forced to listen to it, she is big on freedom of religion as well as freedom from religion. It’s kind of the same logic when I complain at the gym when the TVs above the treadmill are playing the 700 Hundred Club. I love God as much as the next guy, I just don’t want to hear about the man upstairs when I am shoe shopping and working out.
Anyway today at the shoe store my sister Hope got some song about Jesus stuck in her head and she kept singing it. Then I got it stuck in my head. After Shoe Mart we headed over to a Payless. I actually did not get any shoes at the religious music store, but scored 2 pairs at Payless (then there was the pair I bought on Delias.com later, but who’s counting). There was an old man working at Payless, I would almost use the words geriatric or elderly -he definitely qualified for the seniors discount at IHOP let’s put it that way. There were these white and rainbow heels I wanted and the box said they were $6. $6!!!!!!!!, heck ya. On my way to check out I realized they were in the wrong box and the shoes might in fact cost more. Well grandpa starts to ring me up and the shoes are actually $7. Then he sees the box and takes a $1 off. Beads of sweat start to form on my upper lip… do I keep my mouth shut and get the extra dollar in savings or do I fess up that the shoes are in the wrong box? Suddenly the praise Jesus song pops in my head and I blurt out the error for fear of going to hell. The man was nice enough to give me the shoes for $6 anyway even after I told him that they were actually $7.
I like to think I would have not had the heart to take that man’s dollar even if I had not just heard religious music. I would have laid in bed tonight wondering if when the books and register didn’t ring up correctly the boss man would dock the old man’s pay and then he would not have enough money for a can or prunes or whatever. I did the right thing, honesty is always the best policy. Plus I still got my new heels for $6 instead of $7.

I would not have been sad if the scary geese were to have blown up.
Geese scare me a little bit. Today my mom and I went walking around this park here in McKinney called Town Lake, we went 2 whole laps which is about 2.5 miles. The park is right across the street from where I went to High School. The old alma mater still looked the same, so did Town Lake for that matter. They did have these new really cool paddle boats that were shaped like Swans that tickled my fancy. Speaking of swans there is also quite the congregation of ducks and geese around the lake. People come and feed them stale bread and such. The geese have always kind of scared me because they have been known to bite. I was making my mother speed up when we were walking past their turf. My mother likes to think of them as a gang and referred to them as the “East Side Quackers”. She said once one ran after her and bit her on the calf. So needless to say these geese put the fear of Jesus in me.
Town Lake has lots of memories for me. There were days when I didn’t quite feel like being at school when a gaggle of us bad kids would walk across the street and hang out there in the park. I saw today from the small group of Teens that this is still a popular past time. One of my very favorite Town Lake memories involves myself and the Smith family. Erin has been my best friend since grade school in McKinney and now lives in Austin and is still my best friend. Her mother Linda was my Campfire Girl Leader and I grew up around her brother Brian. Well Linda was also Brian’s Boy Scout Leader. When we were in high school and going through that “we don’t like adults or authority stage”, including Linda, Erin and I were forced to attend Brian’s Eagle Scout Ceremony at Town Lake. It was a big production that involved Brian paddling across the small man made lake in a canoe and I believe fire torches were involved. Erin and I’s job was to film this rite of passage with the family video camera, which we did like good girls. The sad thing is I believe we narrated the whole event with singing the Wicked Witch of the East theme song anytime Erin’s mom came on camera and more than once referring to her brother as a dork. We were not quite smart enough to think ahead that the video camera not only taped images AND sounds. I believe our little snot nosed narrations got played back at the first viewing of the tape, which was also next boy scout meeting, and we were officially fired as the camera crew.
As I typed I remember another story about Town Lake. The part about it being man made triggered this little nugget. I was in high school when they were digging the lake it’s self. I remember all of the sudden the high school filling with the smell of natural gas. Actually if you wanna get really technical natural gas is odorless but they add something to it so you can detect it. Well that day my sophomore year of high school you could detect it. Apparently when digging out the lake they hit a gas pipe of some sort. I can remember the principles coming on the speakers in the school trying to remain calm and telling the students to basically get the hell out of dodge. It was chaos with everyone leaving campus in an unorganized manner. I also remember them urging everyone not to smoke or light matches until they were far away. Being the average age of 16 this of course made everyone spark up in rebellion. God were we cool. Obviously you have never heard the legend of the high school that exploded from a gas leak, so as you might imagine the leak got fixed and I went back to school the next day. But there was almost high drama and I remember it vividly. I would not have been sad if the scary geese were to have blown up, but I guess the lake was not built yet so they were not living there yet. And truthfully I don’t want any harm to come to those geese I just don’t want them to bite my tush and squawk at me.

My mothers choice of sleeping gear and swim suit cover up.
Everytime I come home for a visit one of the things that amuses me is my mothers choice of sleeping gear and swim suit cover up for her water aerobics classes. You see when I was in high school apparently all I wore every day were XL band T-shirts. My mom just came into the room decked out in her jammies which is a bright orange Teen Beat Records T-shirt. Some of my other favorites have been her in my Butthole Surfers Locust Abortion Technichian shirt and once I had to stop her from leaving for the pool when she came out with my L7 Smell the Magic T-shirt on. I don't think she realized what the magic was bless her heart.
Other amusements of the night have involved Natalie Portman. I haven't seen an episode of Saturday Night Live in I don't know how long. Not because I am never home on Saturday nights mind you, just because the show never makes me giggle. I think the last one I saw had Justin Timberlake as the host right after he and Britney split and he did some bit with I believe it was Jimmy Fallon pretneding to be the Bee Gees. Anyway I digress. Where I am going with this diatribe is that yesterday on the font page of Yahoo it had the top searched for items and I saw the term "Natalie Portman Rap". Well clearly I was intrigued and had to click the link. Have you seen this? It is a spoof on her being a hard core rapper. She almost fools me into thinking she is kind of tough. Like if she died Hope might paint her on a thrift store canvas or piece of clothing.

naughty college girls basketball & fluffy fitness instructors
As you might imagine a lot of people come to Naughty Secretary Club expecting naked chicks. I know because with all my statistics/tracking software I can see what people are searching for to get to my site. Usually I don’t even look at my stats, but yesterday when I was looking at the ones for my blog I saw that someone had ended up here from searching for “naughty college girls basketball”. Now that is a quote. What exactly does that entail? I played basketball in Jr. High you can’t get too naughty with that. The other interesting thing is that when you search for that term - “naughty college girls basketball” - my blog is the first thing that comes up. Why? Because of the blog entry I did a few weeks ago on taking my husband’s grandmother to a basketball game. I bet some hot and bothered guy was really disappointed at those search results.
Anyway the search reminded me of this sweet group of Canadian ladies who named their basket ball team after Naughty Secretary Club. The image on their T-shirts is my old logo and they are called The Naughty Secretaries. The sad thing is that I tried to send them this big box of free jewelry as a thank you and I got an email back saying that customs had stopped the package and to pick it up it was going to be like $100. So the girls decided not to pick it up for obvious reasons. However, Canada never returned the package to me either. I guess there is a package full of Naughty Secretary Club bling sitting somewhere in the basement of a Canadian government building.
In other news I am here at my parents house with my sister. Our 4 hour journey here today was fine and dandy besides the fact that for some reason we both had the theme song from Gilligan's Island stuck in our head. Every 30 minutes or so one of us would sing out "A 3 hour tour". Upon arrival in Big M, or McKinney AKA where I grew up, we chatted with the fam then headed out for dinner. My favorite Italian place in the whole world with this heavenly dish called Chicken Cappuccino. I had it served at the rehearsal dinner for my wedding. Alas I am on the low-carb diet in hopes of looking like a new person for our TV premiere party so I got to have a big salad. Yummy lettuce, it's so good and green when it hits my lips. Here at home this evening we have all sat around and done what families do, watch TV together. I have sat on the internet almost all night checking in on random blogs I enjoy. My favorite I always forget about is Cute Overload. It is chocked full of adorable little animal pictures like this fluffy little fitness buff. I made him the wallpaper on my computer. I am sure those that look at my lap top will be glad to see my old wall paper of the Sam the world's ugliest dog go bye-bye. Speaking of bye-bye.

I have forgotten what color my hair is naturally.
I have had some form of red hair for years now, I mean for so long I have forgotten what color my hair is naturally. So the fact that I dyed my hair dark brown almost black yesterday is big news for me. You can kinda tell on this wee little phone picture. New cut coming soon. P.S. I can't stop listening to "How to be Dead" by Snow Patrol and "Heartbeats" by The Knife.

Mellow first thing in the morning mix.
Yesterday Chris and I went down to Borders to peruse the books and magazines and the new issue of Elle Accessories was on the stand with 3 pieces of Naughty Secretary Club jewelry. This is a big deal for me. Usually I only have jewelry in “teen” magazines. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE these teen magazines. I read them more, enjoy the clothing and accessories more and am abundantly aware that teens make up a lot of my clientele. I just always joke that I can never get my jewelry into “big girl” magazines. Teen Vogue loves me, but plain Vogue would not touch me with a 10 foot pole. So you see Elle Accessories is one of the fist “Big Girl” magazines I have been featured in. As you can see they shot a Cha Cha Bracelet, Revamped Vintage Necklace and Giddey Up Bracelet. Super cool. I even sent the link to my parents.
Before I go to the gym I’d like to talk about the new IMIX I made myself. I realized that as much as I love random, when it is first thing in the morning and you have that option on it is not always a good thing. With only half a can of diet coke (my coffee substitute) in my system early in the morning I don’t wanna hear The Dead Kennedy’s or Jay Z. In Las Vegas my friend Lisa recommended I make a mellow first thing in the morning mix which I find I am listening to all the time. Here, you can download the IMIX too. Lot’s of Decembrists, Kings of Convenience, Unrest, Stereolab, Yo La Tango, Low – good stuff.

Naughty Secretary Club in the news, dying phones and recipes!
Yesterday I received the latest issue of Curve Magazine in the mail. There is a big full page article all about me, Naughty Secretary Club, Stitch, Stylelicious, Craft Lab and more. That was super duper nice of those peeps to write a story like that. Click here to read all about it. Oh and I can’t remember did I give you the link to the story in Good Life Magazine?
In case you were wondering, Constant Gardner won out last night and this is the recipe we used for Macaroni and this is the one we used for pork chops. Both were delicious. Chris and I will be having left overs for days.
The weather is awful today – all rainy and poopy – this may be day number two of staying home. I do however need to venture out to the book store and buy my tickets to London at some point. Oh and go to the phone store. I must have dropped my phone Saturday night because it is dying a slow painful death unable to make calls only able to send and recieve texts at this point. Damn the Treo!

SXSW aka Twang Fest
So I am taking today off from SXSW. I have gone out every day except one since last Saturday. That is the way SXSW is though crazy running around. I have mostly been joined at the hip with Erin and Cory for the festivities. I love that I did not buy a wrist band and have had a wonderful week. There are always so many free day shows with free drinks and food, it’s hard to beat. I have been to parties for magazines like Vice, Jane and Chunklet. Seen bands such as Lady Sovereign, Levy, Fiery Furnaces and Earlimart. Been to venues like Beauty Bar, Red Scoot Inn, Fuel and countless other places I have never set foot in once the entire time I have lived in Austin. Seen lots of old friends and have had an overall awesome week.
As much fun as it is, last night about did me in - hence why I am taking the day off to recuperate. Tomorrow might still be fun to go out, but I might stay home then too. Chris is off getting the ingredients to cook me pork chops and baked macaroni and cheese for dinner. We have Super Size Me, The Constant Gardner and The Purple Rose of Cairo here from Netflixs so I am a happy girl to lay on the couch all day. Well I did go downtown to see Chris’s band play at 3, but beyond that it is all about me and the couch.

I decided to let them have their cocktails in peace.
Yesterday seemed like a long day.
I worked on and off all day and watched Hedwig and the Angry Inch in the afternoon. It was cute, but not as wondermous as I thought it would be. I did love the outfits.
Around 7:00pm I took some more goodies up to Parts and Labour and met Susann and her boy toy’s cousin and friend for dinner. They are in town for SXSW so we went to Docs Motorworks and sat on the patio and did some people watching. Doc's is where the Austin Craft Mafia is having the Stylelicious premiere party on April 5th.
After dinner we went to meet Jesse and Mark at the brand spankin’ new Beauty Bar. The Bar was cute, but a little sparse. However sparkly walls and light fixtures by Moon Shine Shades so that is a bonus. Not really like the LA version that I adore, but on it’s way – after all it is only the second night being open. At the bar next to us was Sleater Kinney and Clea Duvall. I kept trying to think of sly ways to slip them a naughty secretary club card, but I decided to let them have their cocktails in peace.
On the way home my cab driver told me all about the pro-wrestling events that are held at the skate park down the street from my house. It actually sounded kind of hilarious, apparently cheap pyrotechnics are involved and everything.

Neutral Milk Hotel
I was so happy yesterday. I randomly got this old Neutral Milk Hotel song in my head that I used to have on a mixed tape and could never find anywhere. I had looked more than once to try and locate this song for download, purchase on CD you name it. Well somehow yesterday I found “Everything Is” on Itunes. Man I forgot what a good song that is. This weekend I also downloaded “Hey Catrine” by Lifetime and “Love Will Turn Around” (from the movie Six Pack) by Kenny Rogers.

Tonight on Lisa Loeb’s #1 Single there are some very special guest appearances.
Tonight on Lisa Loeb’s #1 Single there are some very special guest appearances. First watch for the lovely Vickie Howell on the episode chatting with Lisa about dudes, babies and her field of expertise knitting! While you are watching Vickie be sure to check out her Wooden Friends Kitty necklace and her Prrrr earrings. After the episode Vickie gave the necklace to Lisa who was sweet enough to send me a thank you email! So tune in tonight 9pm Central.
I added a bunch of new goodies to Naughty Secretary Club yesterday. Nostalgic Notions Earrings with bananas and monkeys, Cameo shaped Revamped Vintage Bracelets and more. Go and check it out.
Yesterday Chris and I played in the yard and I began cleaning out the flower bed in the front of our house. I am more soar today than I am after a day at the gym. We also began building a bench out of cinder blocks that I saw in a budget living book. We are going for migas and oil cloth shopping for the seat here in a little bit. I’ll post a picture when it is done. In the evening we met with our friends Chris, Jeff and Carrin for dinner. Jeff and Carrin brought their little baby Sophia who is adorable. Hope and Kurt came along later and I ended up leaving with them. The three of us went to Club Deville which turned into a big party with oodles of people Tina, Karly, Erin – the usuals plus some people I have not seen in a long time. Fun was had by all. Too much fun I think according to my headache. Nothing a big greasy breakfast can’t fix so I am off to self medicate with migas.

I've been a bad, bad blogger
Man have I been a total slack this week on the blog front. My trip to Atlanta wore me out and I am still recovering a bit. The only bits of hot gossip are that I totally revamped my shelf at Parts and Labour. Are you coming to town for SXSW swing by and check it out. New orange motif.
Tonight is going to be super fun for me. First I get to go to dinner at Mamacitas, my favorite restaurant in college. They make their own tortillas and have this weird lime green salsa that I love! Chris and I are meeting his mom and grandma for dinner and then we are off to San Antonio to see the Spurs play the Lakers. You see Chris's grandmother LOVES basketball and has never been to a game so this was our Christmas present to her. If you are at the game tonight and see an 87 year old woman standing up yelling at the Lakers that would be Betty Lou.

Michelle Williams
I know everyone remembers the year that Nicole Kidman wore that amazing green dress to the Oscar’s. I think it was Dior, it was Asian themed and a limey colored green. I don’t remember who won what about that year, but I remember her dress. Last night was much the same. I didn’t watch the Oscars at all, but I did see pictures of Michelle Williams in that yellow dress all over the internet. Holy crapenhowser she looked amazing. I love that shade of yellow and with her bright red lips. Even the necklace was a good choice because the pointy style matched the collar of the dress.
As Jermaine Dupri would say: “Yo, Yo.. Yo..Yo, Yo, Welcome to Atlanta where the playas play And we ride on them things like every day Big beats, hit streets, see gangsta's roamin' And parties dont stop til' eight in the mornin'”. I’ll be sure and sing that Hope when we get to Atlanta tonight.

Rambling

So last night I decided to reward myself with a drinkie on the back porch with Erin, Jug, Kurt and Hope. All day yesterday Jasmine cranked out jewelry and Ginger and I put together orders and tried to put out some fires. After the girls left at 5 I still had to go to Fed Ex and get packages off to W, Playgirl and Lori Goldstein. See, I deserved a break if you are asking me.
Before my friends came over I talked to my friend Kate in LA and she said “I saw your rock-n-roll charm school necklace in Life and Style Magazine”. By God she was right, Fred Flare got the necklace in the mag, those people rawk. If you make stuff you should totally enter their “next big thing” contest. I have the rock-n-roll charm school and ping-pong necklace on their site.
So today is going to be spent working on stuff for my trip to Atlanta Monday (this time I have the dates right I promise). This evening is Chia and Javi’s wedding which should be tons of fun since almost everyone I know is invited and there will be DJ’s, dancing, food, friends and drinks – plus the weather is a perfect temperature for an outdoor wedding. I guess I need to start thinking about what I am going to wear. Suppose my usual outfit of jeans and a Naughty Secretary Club hoodie would not fly for this event.
Can’t have too much fun Jen A is coming over tomorrow to show me how to update the Austin Craft Mafia press page. I handle all the press for the group and we are trying to spread the gospel about our new TV show Stylelicious.
Ok so enough rambling about my life.

Austin Craft Mafia TV
I'm so excited and I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it. Ok, enough Pointer Sisters. What I am excited about today is the spring issue of Venus where they mentioned Stylelicious, Craft Lab and Knitty Gritty - all 3 shows on DIY Network hosted by Austin Craft Mafia members! Read the story here.
Speaking of the Austin Craft Mafia I went and "tricked out, jazzed up, revamped" our My Space Profile. I also gave the Stitch Profile an overhaul. If you are not friends with us, you should be. Are you friends with me?

Austin Craft Mafia Gossip
Are you getting so sick of reading the Austin Craft Mafia sit down questions over and over? Well you no longer have to suffer, because we have added all new and exciting questions and answers. Go and check it out.
In other hot gossip we just found out today that Stylelicious will be premiering Thursday April 6th at 1:30 CT then a repeat on Sundays at 3pm CT. The show will be on weekly with 3 different members of the Austin Craft Mafia as hosts. Look for projects like purses out of training panties, aprons from plastic grocery bags and skirts serged with fishing wire. If you can wear it – we are gonna show you how to make it!
One more thing, the latest issue of my favorite online magazine N.E.E.T is up.

Japanese Fashion Magazines

So Japanese literature keeps coming up in the last few days. Yesterday my assistant Ginger was telling me about all these Japanese craft books she had ordered. Which then reminded me in the current issue of Knit 1 which has all these adorable knitted monsters from Japanese patterns. Then today someone filed out the survey on my web site and mentioned as their favorite magazines some Japanese ones they get. I used to subscribe to Fruits and of course have the books, but would love to see some other magazines from Japan. Does anyone know where one could purchase: Jille, Soup, Zipper and Cutie?
In other news I went to dinner at the Shady Grove last night with Tina and Jenny. It was super fun and then the 3 of us went over to Flipnotics for a drink and continued chatting. Jenny just returned from NYC so it feels like forever since I have seen her.
Oh and if you are looking for something to do this evening Chris’s band plays around 10 at Emo’s tonight. I’ll be there with bells on to cheer for my hubby.
